Retail Therapy

I was feeling pretty sorry for myself today because of the sold out marathon news and even though I wanted to lie on the couch and sulk, I drug myself and my kids through Walgreens and Rite Aid for a little retail therapy. I polished off a bag of peanut M&M's to help ease the pain of disappointment and in addition to that, I felt just a tiny bit better after I bought all this.

Rite Aid:
20 containers of Mentos gum $20.00
2 gallons of milk $3.98
2 candy bars $1.00
1 candy wrapper .50
Total $25.48

(-$5) Used $5 off $25 coupon first
(-$20) Used 20 $1 off mentos gum coupons

Total OOP: $0.48 cents (which I paid for with my Rite Aid gift card)

Walgreens: The deal I told you about this morning did this for me:
4 Glade Candles $23.96
1 CFL lightbulb $0.99
2 bags of butterfinger easter candy marked down to $1 each $2.00
1 reusable tote $0.99
1 Lindt truffle as a filler $0.33
Tax $2.20
Total $30.47

(-5.23) Used the free tote and 15% off coupon
(-$1) Used 1 coupon for $1 off two bags of Nestle candy
(-$16) Used 4 coupons for $4 off a glade soy candle
(-$8) Used $2 off a glade candle easy saver coupon

Total OOP: $0.24

Then my mother-in-law called telling me that she took herself to the hospital because of severe back pain and right before her knee surgery and I couldn't help feel a little foolish about my silly problems. Maybe I will take her a candle.

You did awesome! Are the CFL lightbulbs ones you can use the recent insert coupons on? If so I need to get on that deal!
